Choosing tile formats for large spaces

The 800x1600mm format has become popular for lobbies and showrooms because it dramatically reduces grout lines and reads as a continuous surface.

Larger formats, however, place stricter demands on substrate flatness. Deviations beyond 3mm over 2m can cause lippage at the tile edges.

For renovation work, 600x1200mm usually strikes the better balance between appearance and installation practicality.
